French Wine ScholarThe French Wine Scholar Study and Certification program provides current, accurate, and in-depth information on the wines and wine regions of France. Developed and administered by the Wine Scholar Guild, with the support of the French Ministry of Agriculture, the specialization program is designed for advanced students of wine, whether professionals, or serious wine hobbyists. Students of wine who follow this in-depth curriculum and pass the exam will earn the French Wine Scholar (FWS) post-nominal. French Wine Scholar Classes are offered by licensed program providers and delivered by an approved WSG instructors, Sheral Schowe, FWS and Kasey Dubler, FWS. The live classroom study format includes: study manual, tutored tastings, and access to the complete FWS E-Learning online package. You do not have to take the exam unless you want the post-nominal. The class will be taught in-person with wine tastings, on Mondays from 6-9pm, (NEW DATES TBA) at Fratelli Ristorante 8612 S. 1300 East, Sandy, UT. Italian Wine ScholarThe Italian Wine Scholar curriculum is an Italian wine education program designed to provide committed students of wine with the most advanced and comprehensive specialization study on Italian wine without exception. It is directed by Italian Programs Director Andrea Eby, IWS, with the support of the Italian wine DOC/G consortia. The Italian Wine Scholar Program mirrors the unparalleled level of depth, accuracy, detail, and academic rigor offered by the acclaimed French Wine Scholar program and scholars who pass the exam will earn the post-nominal of IWS. The Italian Wine Scholar study program is composed of two separate units:
IWS Unit 1: Northern Italy, will be offered as an in-person class with weekly tastings. Class will be held on Tuesdays beginning January 31, 2023, and concluding with the final exam and class on April 18, 2023, from 6- 9pm at Carmine's in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Class participants will be expected to order a dinner of their choosing from the menu at their own expense. Cost is $995.00 which includes all tastings, instruction, manual and Online E-Study course. |
