DEC 15- PWD: Bordeaux and Beyond
Explore the legendary wines and spirits of Southwest France in this immersive class highlighting the traditions, terroir, and families behind Bordeaux, Cahors, and Armagnac.
We’ll begin with the iconic Bordeaux region, exploring its celebrated appellations, classic grape varieties, distinctive Left Bank and Right Bank styles, and the families and estates that have shaped Bordeaux’s reputation for centuries. From there, we’ll travel south to Cahors, a historic wine region known for its deeply colored, structured wines and its signature Malbec, discovering how this distinctive terroir and its producers offer a fascinating contrast to Bordeaux.
Our journey will also include Armagnac, France’s oldest grape brandy, as we explore its unique production methods, regional character, and the families who have preserved this remarkable tradition through generations. Together, these regions tell a compelling story of the diversity and heritage of Southwest France.
Dining: All class participants are required to purchase a meal of their choosing from the regular menu. Your meal is separate from the wine class and allows you to enjoy dinner throughout the tasting experience.
Service: Participants are expected to tip their server appropriately. Class will be held at Gossip Kitchen 2 (formerly Carmine's): 2477 East Fort Union Blvd, Cottonwood Heights from 6:30pm-8:30pm.
